God’s Light Shines On You

The heavens are telling the glory of God every day and night (Psalm 19:1). And yet, Isaiah says there is coming a day when the glory of the Lord will be revealed in such a way as it's never been revealed before. And every person will see it together.

“And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it,” (Isaiah 40:5).

No more solitary Moses on Mount Sinai saying, "Lord, show me your glory." No more solitary Ezekiel with the "wheel in a wheel." No more solitary Paul being taken up into the third heaven of ecstasy. Every single person on the face of the globe, together, will be stunned by the glory revealed from the Lord.

When will this be, and how is it going to happen? It comes from the mouth of our Lord in Matthew 24:29-30 that it will be this:

“The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

I wish I could persuade you today the glory of the Lord is going to be revealed, because I'm concerned so many are toying with minor glories that are going to go out like the flame on a candle when the Sun rises on this world!

Jesus came softly at first, so he could be looked at. We beheld his glory; glory as of the only begotten of the Father (John 1:14). And we see him in the Gospels as the man, Jesus Christ. He is someone we can look at now, but it’s going to be the same Christ when he comes again in glory!

The dawn, the rising of the glory of the Lord, was the first coming of Jesus. The high noon of the Lord’s glory will be the second coming of Jesus, and that sun will never set. It will stay at high noon forever in the kingdom. Those who are there will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father (Matthew 13:43).

"Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11).

Getting ready for the Second Coming is as simple as professing your sins and accepting Jesus as your savior. Jesus and his followers realized churches were essential to guiding Christians toward a true understanding of the powerful relationship Jesus offers.

That’s why I urge you to dedicate one hour a week to attend our 11 a.m. Sabbath Service at Foothills Community Church. Your church family will help you become a stronger Christian and support you through the tough times we all face throughout life.

Please join us this Saturday as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas.

See you in church on Saturday!

Your pastor,

Duff
