ACTIVATE YOUR SPIRITUAL POTENTIAL!

I’m sure you’ve heard this definition of a football game: It’s an event where 70,000 people who desperately need exercise, sit in the stands watching 22 men on the field who desperately need rest! In the average congregation, there are a significant number of spectators watching a handful of dedicated servants.

Can a person lose their spiritual gifts? As far as I know, the answer to that question is no. But it is very possible for a person to neglect their gifts. Paul writes in 2 Timothy 1:6 "For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of hands." A spiritual gift is a potential for service in a given area, nothing more and nothing less. We are invited to discover our gifts, develop our gifts, and then deploy them in the area of ministry God leads us to.

Our current series of messages is intended to help all of us leave the spectator stands and become active participants in the beautiful work God is doing in and through Foothills Community Church!
