GOD’S WILL FOR MY LIFE

God deeply desires for us to know and do his will. And God does not keep his will for us a secret!

We are continuing the series: “Wonders of the Faith” with the topic at the Sabbath service being:

“I Wonder About God’s Will for My Life”

Being in tune with God’s will for us is not complicated. We do need to know how to recognize his voice when he communicates with us and have the courage to do what he tells us.

In daily reality, I think over 90% of our thoughts, attitudes and actions are spontaneous rather than premeditated. They are simply spillover from what’s inside.

Jesus said:

“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak” (Matthew 12:34-36).

God commands things like

  • Don‘t be angry.

  • Don’t be prideful.

  • Don’t covet.

  • Don’t be anxious.

  • Don’t be jealous.

  • Don’t envy.

These things tend to just naturally rise up out of the heart without conscious reflection or intention. And these responses are outside of God’s will for us.

It is plain there is one primary task of the Christian life:

We must be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Make the tree good and the fruit will be good (Matthew 12:33).

Give yourself to this challenging calling!

Immerse yourself in the written word of God—saturate your mind with it. Pray that the Holy Spirit’s transforming work will yield an abundance of beautiful and delicious new fruit into your life so that the spillover will be good, acceptable, and perfectthe will of God!

Your Foothills church family strives to meet these objectives in their lives. Be here Saturday at 11 a.m. and learn how we grow as Christians when we support one another learning about God’s Will for each of us. We call this a Joyful Walk With Christ and it’s a mission of our church.

See you and the family on Sabbath!
