RETURNING TO A JOYFUL WALK

Airlines are hitting record demand for travel. Lumber is more valuable than oil, National Parks are filled to capacity and employers are calling workers back to the office.

It’s not easy going from 0-to-60 in just a few weeks. For many of us in FCC we are still feeling the shock of being separated from family, friends and the in-person experience of the church.

Unfortunately, it’s easy to cling to the hopelessness we’ve experienced throughout the pandemic. Learning how to return to a joyful walk with the Lord is where your church is the salvation.

Your church family wants to help you, your family and friends to recover the joy in life and in worshiping Christ. While we are delighted our online services kept you connected during the dark days, it’s time to return to the flock in person and experience God’s love.

Perhaps, what we all went through was a way for God to keep us humble and understand how before 2020 we took for granted the ability to meet in person as a church family. Even in Hebrews, the Bible recognized the value of the church in meeting the needs of its members in person.

Pastor Duff, Associate Pastor Don, and other wonderful leaders deliver powerful messages each Sabbath. To truly feel that power, it is best experienced with “butts in seats” on our beautiful campus.

Meanwhile, bills are piling up at the church.

Scattered throughout the Bible are chapters reminding Christians of their duty to tithe. Please remember this is YOUR church and it needs your financial support or donation of your time to keep it running.

We are excited to expand our missions, such as the Scholastic Investment Fund, supporting our young members with education expenses. However, we need you to open your wallet and give what you can. The Scriptures suggest a tithe of 10 percent, but give what you can. Here’s a link that makes giving incredibly easy and tracks your financial support for tax deduction purposes.

Now that the pandemic is finally lifting, the nation’s rate of divorce filings are hitting record levels.

As a church family we need to reach out to those in our flock who are experiencing a family crisis or loss of a spouse through divorce. We need to bring them the support and love as we would our own child in crisis.

And as far as assigning blame in these situations: it’s is not up to us mere mortals to judge or punish either party: God is in charge of the situation.

Our church is in need of high school- or college-aged students interested in learning about audio/video systems, along with video production, social media and website development and maintenance. The activities we have open allow the students to take on leadership roles in learning and teaching others.

It’s a wonderful way to get a child involved in volunteering their knowledge to help others in building a church. Click here to sign up.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at church on Sabbath. In-person and online services are Saturday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Feel free to join us in-person or online for our Wednesday Round Table each week at 7 p.m.

God bless,

Randy Bailey
