ADVENT: A TIME TO CONNECT WITH JESUS
Advent focuses on the season of expectation Christians everywhere anticipate the celebration of Christ's birth.
Throughout Church history, Christians have observed Advent, first to celebrate the incarnation of Jesus, and then to look forward to the future when He will return.
According to the traditional "Church Calendar" Advent starts on December 1 and culminates on Christmas Eve.
I invite you to join the rest of the worldwide church by leaning into this heavenly focus! This time is a special and sacred opportunity to connect with Jesus.
One way we all can benefit from Advent is some additional Bible reading revolving around Advent themes. I'm listing some suggested passages for Bible reading with the prayer that you will find this exercise spiritually helpful:
ISAIAH: chapters 1, 2, 7, 9, 11, 25, 26, 29, 30, 35, 40, 45, 52, 56, 61
MATTHEW: chapters 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, 15, 18, 21
At this first Sabbath service of Advent in December you can begin the Joyful Walk With Christ toward the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
Join your church family at 11 a.m. on Saturday to enjoy the music and decorations of the season to brighten your day and bring purpose to your Christian life. We offer free childcare during the service so please bring the entire family!
Your pastor,
Duff
